Title: Chinese Monk

Mixed media on paper - size 53.5x39cm - Year 2000

I spent a lot of time at Chinese religious sites. Rambling through Hangzhou with a friend we found a temple in disrepair. The monks were raggedy but friendly, explaining their shrine was devoted to ‘yule’, loosely translated as fun, entertainment, and things like drinking alcohol.
