Title: Ghosts of the past #1
Oil on canvas / Size 210×210mm / Year 2003
This small painting was an oil sketch inspired by old Shanghai movies, photos, songs and broken pottery I was sourcing for the Masons in the UK. The shop with broken pottery used to belong to a friend’s family and was all destroyed in the Cultural Revolution.
