Title: Lazy thoughts about the Iraq war

Oil on canvas / Size 150x120cm / Year 2007

I guess this was my response to how we were in China which was totally unaffected by the invasion of Iraq. Thoughts about the downfall of Saddam Hussein and my feeling of the attitude of people hanging around in Shanghai. They were oblivious to the whole thing, whereas myself I was seeking out information about the conflict that was happening. I also had other friends, other journalists that were having to go there to cover some of the aspects of the conflict. For us it was kind of weird having foots in both worlds. I found it surreal because Shanghai was so safe, and we had this conflict happening in Iraq and Afghanistan.
