Title: Mid Levels
Oil paint on canvas - Size: 200x250cm - Year 2007
This work is titled the ‘mid levels’ and is the middle painting in a triptych*. The idea of the triptych was to display the different layers of Shanghai society and appeared in the exhibition City of Gold at Shanghai Art Museum. To my knowledge the works are now in Portugal after they were acquired by a collector.
*A triptych is an artwork made up of three pieces or panels. Often used to impart narrative, create a sequence, or show different elements of the same subject matter.
