Title: Urban Mini Painting 3
Acrylic on canvas / Size 297×210mm / Year 2005
This is the road I used to walk through on my way to the subway, same as in painting #1 in the series. An interesting area, which I knew was not going to last long in the modernising Shanghai, where old areas got demolished to make place for new buildings.
This was more like a sketch of my daily commute to work through this ramshackle, messy, kind of crazy neighbourhood.
