Another painting where I tried to capture the spirit of Shanghai, a great port city, matriarchal in many ways, and also some curiosity as my own daughter is Eurasian, and how she would develop as a person, though many people say this looks like her mother, who may too have foreign DNA given the city’s mixed history.
